MANILA – November 22, 2013 – Globe Telecom has extended its offer of 25 free SMS per day for five days that may be used for local and international messages.  This will be available to all Globe and TM subscribers in the provinces of Leyte, Samar, Cebu, Aklan, Antique, and Capiz from November 20 to 24, 2013, Globe said in a press release.

Globe first came up with the free text service last November 13 to 17 for the communication requirements of communities affected by the super typhoon.

“We decided to extend this offer as part of our Bangon Pinoy program as our way of lending a hand to those who badly need assistance. We’re providing this free service together with our relief operations, Libreng Tawag, Charging, and Internet centers, and other community rebuilding activities.  With the free SMS, we hope to help more people who still need a way to reach out to their friends and relatives either in the country or abroad,” said Issa Cabrera, Vice President for Prepaid Business.

For Globe and TM customers in the affected Visayas provinces, the free service can be availed by texting BangonPinoy to 8888.
