MANILA – October 10, 2013 – One of the wittiest young creatives , with a handful of solo exhibits, last seen on social media strumming the guitar and singing about the advertising industry for his new band – it can be said that JP Cuison is an accomplished artist of his generation.
Now working as an associate creative director at Publicis JimenezBasic, Cuison once again uses his wild imagination in putting up ‘Misplaced!’, a solo exhibit of his unique silk screen printed artworks. The exhibit was launched on October 9 at The Pocket Universe Art Collective in Makati City.
Known for his paintings and other installation art exhibits, Cuison noted, “This is the first time na magkaroon ako ng show na lahat silk screen prints… normally acrylic paints. Ngayon medyo iba na yung ginamit kong materials."
Sharing his thoughts on the artworks, he continued, "… It’s all about pop culture icons and pop culture characters na nilagay ko sa kanilang unnatural habitat." In one of the posters, Homer Simpson finds himself in the crib of the Family Guy, where the Griffins look at him in shock.
The gallery setup went on with his theme too. Posters and labels were intentionally misplaced while a huge poster for a different event hung on the welcome wall.
With limited copies of posters for sale, the exhibit will run until November 16, 2013. The Pocket Universe Art Collective is located at the 2nd floor, Saguijo Bar, Makati City.
