ASIA-PACIFIC – BANGKOK, THAILAND, MARCH 7, 2012: Kirsten Smith, one of Hollywood’s most prolific female screenwriters, will share the ADFEST 2012 stage as keynote speaker, where she will share with delegates some tips on how to write award-winning, blockbuster film scripts.
Her talk, dubbed “A Conversation with Kirsten ‘Kiwi’ Smith”, will open with video footage of her most popular films, and also include a Q&A segment, as she reveals what it takes to become a Hollywood scriptwriter. “I’m excited to travel to ADFEST to share everything I know about filmmaking and writing scripts, and I look forward to answering all kinds of questions about working in Hollywood,” Smith said.
Jimmy Lam, president of ADFEST, added, “This is the first time that ADFEST has invited a Hollywood celebrity who is not from the advertising industry to share her perspectives on having a ‘light bulb’ moment, overcoming creative roadblocks, and creating ideas.”
“We can confidently say that ADFEST has secured its most eclectic and prestigious panel of speakers ever, ensuring this year’s Festival will be our biggest and most informative yet,” Lam continued.
Among the box office hits that Smith wrote are Legally Blonde (Reese Witherspoon), 10 Things I Hate About You (Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles), and She’s The Man (Amanda Bynes). Most recently, she wrote and produced The Ugly Truth and The House Bunny; she is also executive producer of Whip It, directed by actress Drew Barrymore.
