G2 Direct & Digital wins Digital Agency of the Year at the Indian Digital Media Agency Awards 2010

Mumbai – G2 Direct & Digital has been named Digital Agency of the Year at Exchange4Media’s first ever Indian Digital Media Awards 2010 held in Mumbai.  G2 Direct & Digital beat over 435 entries to take home Gold for Best use of Email marketing and 2 Silvers, one for the Singapore Zoo in the Best corporate site category and the other for Birla Sun Life in the Best use of Email marketing category.

The agency won Gold for its work on Wockhardt Hospitals, a part of Fortis, one of India’s and Asia’s largest and fastest growing healthcare networks with hospitals across Bangalore, Kolkata and Mumbai. The G2 Direct & Digital team devised a unique e-mailer called the “Desktop Orthopaedist” along with a widget that allowed users to exercise their neck relieving them of general fatigue that occurs due to remaining stationary in front of a computer for too long. Once saved on the user’s computer, the widget was displayed on the user’s screen in the form of jokes and was programmed to appear every two hours, thus allowing users to exercise their neck.

The first Silver was awarded for the team’s work on the Birla Sun Life “Save Forests” campaign.

Considering the huge amount of paper used in the insurance industry, the client’s business objective was to encourage its customers to subscribe to e-statements. In addition to supporting this cause, for every 50 e-statements that were subscribed to, a tree would be planted. To enable this to happen, customers were allowed to create profiles that allowed them to blog, post videos and submit tips to propagate the cause. Non-customers could also participate in this cause by creating a virtual tree.

The agency bagged second Silver for revamping the Singapore Zoo website, turning it around from a content only site to one with strong visual imaging, structured content and improved site architecture that allowed for simpler navigation.
