HONG KONG – November 26, 2013 – The upcoming 11th Business of Design week features some of Belgium’s most prominent talents in the design industry, in keeping with this year’s theme, "Belgian Spirit."
Among the speakers are graphic conceptualist Thierry Brunfaut, furniture designer Xavier Lust, celebrity milliner and fashion designer Elvis Pompilio, concept car creator Lowie Vermeersch, award winning designer Alain Gilles, object designer Charles Kaisin, and fashion CEO Anne Chappelle, who heads brands Ann Demeulemeester and Haider Ackermann.
Designers and artists on the international stage will also be speaking at the event, including 2013 Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Toyo Ito, Poland’s editorial and typography artists Artur Frankowski and Magdalena Frankowska, "the King Midas of Design" Stefano Giovannoni, multidiscipline artist and innovator Daan Roosegaarde, world-renowned architect Ascan Mergenthaler, and three time Compasso d’Oro Award winner Matteo Thun from Italy.
Other prominent international speakers include Sou Fujimoto, the youngest ever creator of the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion, Lary Keeley, an innovation strategist, president
Hosted by the Hong Kong Design Centre, Business of Design Week is one of Asia’s leading design events. The week-long gathering features a design conference, forums, exhibitions, and the HKDC Annual Awards Gala, which celebrates design excellence and recognizes the best in the industry.
The event will run from December 2 to 7, 2013, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
