October 23, 2013 – Lowe Lintas has developed a new film for Maruti Suzuki’s Alto 800, India’s favorite car for the first-time buyer.

"The car symbolizes a younger attitude and is known to epitomize spontaneity. However, the current space that the brand has appropriated is not just high on younger attitude, but has dabs of emotion," the agency said.

They described the new film as "a beautiful encapsulation the product attribute of a brilliant mileage, in a manner that goes beyond the functionality and tugs at a deeper emotional connect."

The film shows how better mileage can mean greater happiness, such as during festival times which in India, are celebrated by families getting together.

The spot features a newlywed couple, who have just finished putting divas outside their home during a festival. With one diya left, the girl tells her husband she wants to put the last one at her parents’ house.

The husband is amused, knowing how far his in-laws live. Still, he accepts the challenge, as petrol consumption is not a problem with the Alto’s 22.7kmpl.

Set to a melodious song penned by Gulzar, composed by Rajat Dholokia, and sung by Shilpa Rao, the film has a festive mood, and shows the car looking beautiful in the night.

The commercial signs off with “Agar khusiyaan baatney se badhti hain, toh rukna kyon? Can’t be more true in the times of festival and a promise that can be well made and kept by India’s most Fuel-Efficient Car”.
