THE PHILIPPINES, JANUARY 2, 2012: So how will you start your year? McDonald’s suggests happy and hopeful thoughts.
The leading international fast-food chain greeted the New Year with "Hooray for Today" campaign through their latest TV commercial launched in the first day of 2012.
Developed by Leo Burnett Manila, the commercial, which runs for a minute, shows a young man driving in a city and starting his day with a McDonald’s meal. Throughout his drive, he sees and meets "surprises" such as a little girl with a Pegasus, construction workers making a building with Lego blocks, and a teddy bear driving a car.
According to Margot Torres, Vice-President for Marketing of McDonald’s Philippines, the new campaign aims to start the year with a happy and hopeful thought.
Torres further explains, "Though the campaign focus is our breakfast offerings, the idea of celebrating the positive side of the day comes through as well as the brand’s optimism."
The TVC can also be viewed over at McDonald’s Philippines’ official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/McDo.ph) and YouTube account. As of this writing, the TVC has over 420 likes, 57 comments, and 140 shares in Facebook.
"After only two days on air and three days on the Internet, we have already received a lot of positive feedback on Twitter and Facebook that the campaign brings good vibes and makes you feel good," says Torres.
