GLOBAL – November 27, 2013 – Mobext Philippines, with the support of agency’s global team, has launched a global fund raising program that will be channelled to typhoon relief efforts in the Philippines.
The agency has tied up with World Vision in the Philippines to assist an existing relief project by the NGO for Typhoon Yolanda affected families in Visayas region, Mobext Philippines said in a press release.
The thrust of this effort will be on helping Filipino children have a better future through child sponsorship and community development following the destruction meted out by the recent typhoon.
Commenting on the initiative, Arthur Policarpio, CEO of Mobext Asia Pacific said, “This is our small way of showing commiseration for the typhoon victims. We are promoting this program internally within the group and externally amongst our partners and associates using our social media platforms. We think that in keeping with our groups Meaningful Brands proposition, this was the right moment to use our expertise in technology and develop an easy to use to program to raise funds.”
Called “Tweet to Donate” this program involves donations via Twitter. To attract maximum amount of donation, the program was designed in a quick and easy three-step process.
This involves visiting the Mobext website and logging in the with Twitter details. Once the Twitter account is aligned donors can key in the credit card details, after which they can choose one of the three donation options offered using three different hash tags. A tweet is sent out from the donors account once the payment details are keyed in, which helps in spreading the word around.
Launched last week, the program hopes to raise about US$5000 and will conclude on November 29.
