MANILA – December 12, 2013 — Ogilvy and Mather Philippines today announced the upcoming retirement of Peachy Pacquing, Head of Country, Ogilvy & Mather Philippines, and the Agency’s appointment of Elly Puyat, current Ogilvy One Managing Director, as her successor effective January 1, 2014.
Puyat, a 14-year veteran of Ogilvy, is credited with taking Ogilvy One to a position of leadership as the country’s foremost digital and CRM agency, Ogilvy and Mather Philippines said in a press release. As she moves up to the position of country CEO, she will have oversight for businesses within the O&M Philippines Group to include O&M Advertising and Soho Square, Ogilvy One and neo@Ogilvy, Ogilvy PR and Pulse Communications, Ogilvy Action, and RedWorks Manila.
Speaking about Puyat’s appointment, Kent Wertime, Chief Operating Officer, Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific, said, “Elly is the perfect choice to lead our ongoing efforts to create ‘the agency of the future’ in the Philippines. The industry continues to change rapidly, and clients have a number of new needs in content creation, digital channels, the smart use of data, in-market activation, and more ‘live’ messaging through social media – all based on great ideas. Already, Ogilvy Philippines has made substantial strides in a number of these areas. However, I am confident that Elly will further develop and extend our service capabilities for our clients.”
“Building my career in OgilvyOne meant constantly having to evolve my skills to address the rapid change in consumer engagements with brands. Thus, I am excited to take on this challenge of delivering an agency model that is capable and responsive to the ever-changing demands of consumers. This office has strong discipline expertise, pervasive creative culture and deep-rooted desire to collaborate – all integral in developing dynamic content for our brands,” said Puyat.
Pacquing announced her plans to retire to staff this week after 12 collective years with the Agency to pursue new opportunities.
Commenting on her departure, she said, “I have come full circle with Ogilvy Manila and I am confident that with Elly Puyat taking over the reigns as CEO, I am leaving our team in competent hands. I have no doubt that under Elly’s leadership, the company shall take great strides towards becoming an agency that deftly responds to the new dynamic between people and brands.”
“We thank Peachy for all that she has done for Ogilvy, for building on the blueprint for the Manila office as the agency of the future. While we understand her desire to move on to other challenges we’re sad to be losing her and wish her all the best,” added Wertime.
Peachy Pacquing and Elly Puyat will work together until the close of the year to ensure a smooth transition for Agency clients and staff.
