ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, SEPTEMBER 7, 2012 – The coveted Grand Prix in the Singapore Media Awards (SMA) 2012 was presented to OMD Singapore for its campaign ‘I need a snooze’ for Ikano. One of the essential elements to win this award is for a campaign to exceed the high standard on all accounts.
With a 50% increase in the number of entries and 450 guests, guests including senior executives of media owners, media agencies and clients, this year’s SMA is a record-breaking one. The awards show and dinner was held on September 5, 2012.
Meanwhile, MEC Singapore earned bragging rights as the newly crowned Media Agency of the Year 2012. The agency also bagged the most wins – Best Use of Digital, Best Use of Mobile, Best Use of Search, Best Use of Radio, Best Business to Business and Best Strategic Launch award categories.
The winners of special achievement awards were also announced. Marketer of the Year was presented to Sriramagopalan Desikan from HP Imaging & Printing Group. MediaCom scored a double with Rahul Vasudev and Prajat Khare winning the Media Person of the Year and Young Media Person of the Year awards, respectively. Alicia Luke from MediaCorp won The Media Sales Person of the Year award.
