MANILA – November 6, 2013 – Over 100 artists are coming together to exhibit their work at the Bloom Arts Festival 2013, happening on November 15 at The Collective in Makati.

The first edition of the festival was held last year and saw over 3,000 guests flocking to the stores around Cubao X, which were turned into galleries for the event. This year, the artists’ works will be displayed across stores at The Collective, with the main gallery at Vinyl on Vinyl.

"The goal of Bloom, mainly, is to help emerging or "blooming" artists gain exposure by exhibiting their works together with a few established artists, or artists who have the pull to bring in a large audience, which helps people discover the new artists in a shared-exposure environment," shared Tof Zapanta, who founded Bloom along with Samantha Samonte.

"Aside from that, we also want to address the problem of visiting an exhibit, taking one trip around the gallery to see the works, and then leave. We want everyone to stay and immerse themselves in the art of over 100 artists, by having different activities like bands, live art, and a market," Zapanta continued.

"And of course, we just thought it would be awesome to have all of our favorite artists exhibit in one venue," he said.

There will also be a Bloom market, whose line-up of vendors includes Speculiars, Bookay Ukay, OS Accessories, Monsterella Plush Art, CrazyBeautiful, The Lost Nomad, Numberline Records, Avalon.ph, Free Speech, Punchdrunk Panda, and Bloom Team.

Apart from the new venue, Zapanta said the difference from last year is there will now be an open submissions area. "We are furthering the said goal of helping emerging artists by having an open submissions area, to also target talent which we may not even be aware of, as we don’t have eyes all over the Philippines to watch out for emerging artists everywhere," he said.

Apart from Zapanta and Samonte, the team behind Bloom also includes Clarissa Gonzales and EJ Dalupang (of Flux Design Labs), Raf Banzuela and Quiccs Maiquez (of Burnwater Design), and Anjo Bolarda (of 98B Collaboratory).
