SINGAPORE – December 23, 2013 – Dentsu Utama, an integrated solutions agency in Malaysia that is guided by the mantra “Creativity or Nothing”, successfully launched the newest camera in Panasonic’s Lumix G series – the Panasonic Lumix GM1, with a media event at the Art Science Museum at Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay Sands, the agency announced in a press release.

According to Dentsu, the launch drew over 46 journalists from Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines and featured a spectacular fashion show during which attendees had the opportunity to test the unique features of the camera for themselves. Looking to engage well-travelled, confident, and ambitious women over 30, the launch campaign extends across multiple regions in Southeast Asia.

“We are really pleased with the event and Dentsu really proved their mettle with this launch. From the conceptualization of event and the selection of a venue to the implementation of innovative ideas, the campaign was executed with the highest level of professionalism and excellence,” Junichiro Kitagawa, Managing Director, Panasonic Consumer Marketing Asia Pacific, said in a press release.

Dentsu Utama was appointed by Panasonic in October 2013 to oversee the creative production around the Lumix GM1 launch including print and point of sale materials, as well as the regional launch event. The appointment came after a four-way pitch.

“The Lumix G series already has an excellent reputation among photographers and mainstream consumers, and we are excited to take this forward with the Panasonic Lumix GM1. To have a client such as Panasonic on our books is also a significant win for us, underscoring our capabilities as an integrated agency with creativity at its core,” said Hideo Katakura, Vice President, Dentsu Utama.

Dentsu Utama opened for business in Malaysia in March 2005 with one of the top ten property developers in the country providing some of the earliest key projects. The agency’s culture revolves around creativity and innovation, instilling within every employee the drive for both creative effectiveness and creativity that works for good. The agency’s offerings include a gamut of integrated solutions that include market research and strategy planning, creative development, digital services, sales promotion/event production and content marketing.

Dentsu Utama’s client base spans both local and international clients with current clients including Honda, I&P, Unicharm, MAFC, and MTC. Recently, Dentsu Utama strengthened its creative team by appointing the highly awarded Chow Kok Keong to lead their creative side.
