ASIA PACIFIC – November 21, 2013 – Representatives from seven Saatchi & Saatchi agencies in the Asia-Pacific region have come together in Singapore for Saatchi & Saatchi Asia-Pacific’s first in-house agency Hackathon.
The two-day event is being led by Tom Eslinger, Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide Director of Digital and Social, Saatchi & Saatchi Asia-Pacific said in a press release.
“The Hackathon is a great opportunity for our people to collaborate on digital projects,” said Chris Foster, Chairman and CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Asia-Pacific. “We’re bringing together a group of individuals with diverse skill sets, insights and degrees of digital exposure and that makes the event exciting, educational and challenging. It’s a way to work in real time for the benefit of all.”

A team from Saatchi & Saatchi agencies in Greater China, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam will look at how the experience of exchanging business cards can be transformed for the Age of Now. The team will comprise of creative technologists, designers, planners, copywriters, creative directors and a content journalist, working in tandem to a deadline to create a solution fit for our digital times.
"Hacking has traditionally been associated with destructive actions, but the core principle has always been about ingenious, focused activity to get into something: in our case, how you rapidly turn insights into ideas and make them into solutions on-the-spot,” said Tom Eslinger. “Speed and proof of concept, making and testing has moved to the centre of our creative product and process. Plus, it’s fun!"
The Hackathon is an idea presented by Saatchi & Saatchi Fallon Tokyo at the Saatchi & Saatchi Asia-Pacific Digital Forum held earlier this year.
