MANILA – December 30, 2013 – Jollibee doesn’t seem to be done with making people all teary-eyed and emotional, even as the holidays are about to end.
By now, most people will be familiar with the fast food chain’s heartwarming ‘Noel’ TVC that showed a returning OFW inviting a taxi driver to join his family for dinner after the Balikbayan learned that the driver’s son was also working abroad.
Another Jollibee ad by Publicis JimenezeBasic tells a similar story, except this one happens to be the real-life experience of taxi driver Mon David, who has spent the last fifteen years as a taxi driver, and the last two Christmases missing his daughter, who is based in Dubai.
As Mang Mon shares, he and his wife get especially sad during the holidays, because they no longer get to spend it together as a family.
When the driver goes to a Jollibee, he gets a sweet surprise: his daughter talking to him from the screen where the menus are supposed to be.
The commercial really hits the feels when Mang Mon breaks down and cries happy tears as his daughter repeatedly tells him she loves him.
The ad announces Jollibee’s video call stations, which they have made available in select stores in December, for those who want to contact their families during the season.
