MANILA, September 20, 2013 – TeamAsia managing director Bea Lim has received the President’s Award from top communications university Emerson College in Boston, where she graduated with a master’s degree earlier this year.
"Receiving this year’s President’s Award is such a humbling experience, and sometimes I still can’t believe it,” Lim told adobo.
"Now that I’m back in the Philippines (and back to work in TeamAsia), this award is a constant reminder of three things: how hard my parents worked to help me achieve my goals; how proud I am of being Filipino; and how to pay it forward using this experience to make little differences matter," she said.
Lim started at the strategic marketing communications firm as marketing director, before leaving to join Emerson’s integrated marketing communications program. She returned to the firm as managing director, working with her mother, TeamAsia founder and president Monette Iturralde-Hamlin.
At TeamAsia, Lim also spearheaded My Dream in a Shoebox, a campaign in collaborations with the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) which provides shoeboxes filled with school supplies to less fortunate children all over the country.
Emerson Assistant Professor Kristin Lieb describes Lim as “a brilliant, insightful, and consensus-building project manager, and an incredibly kind, generous person whose positive energy is simply infectious."
"She’s a credit to our institution and will reflect the absolute best of Emerson College as she moves forward in her professional life,” Lieb said
