MANILA – September 13, 2013 – Strategic marketing communications firm TeamAsia bagged the Marketing Standard of Excellence award in the US-based Web Marketing Association’s (WMA) 2013 WebAwards for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development for the Pilipinas Go4Health website of the Philippine Department of Health (DOH).
The website is part of the nationwide healthy lifestyle movement spearheaded by DOH and its partners. The movement aims to inform and encourage Filipinos to commit to physical activity and proper nutrition, as well as to prevent smoking and alcohol consumption.
“This award is proof that website development continues to be an important channel for engaging various sectors to support an important cause like the Pilipinas Go4Health,” said Bea Lim, managing director of TeamAsia, which DOH tapped to develop the communications campaign for the movement.
“As a health movement that hopes to impact the lives of Filipinos, Pilipinas Go4Health carries a very important message: simple lifestyle changes can mean a lot for our overall well-being. And that needs to be communicated to the growing online population,” said Lim, noting that 33 million Filipinos access the Internet regularly.
According to TeamAsia, the website features a user-friendly content management system that allows administrators to effectively manage updates. The website itself is integrated with DOH social media pages including Facebook and Twitter.
WebAwards judges assumed the role of target audience in reviewing each website entry, and scored a maximum of 70 points based on standards of design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting, and ease of use.
This is the fifth year TeamAsia received recognition in the WebAwards, which recognizes outstanding websites across 96 industries.
Last year, TeamAsia won three awards, including the Outstanding Website award for Gurango Software Corporation (GSC), the Events Standard of Excellence award for the 2012 International Outsourcing Summit (IOS), and the Retail Standard of Excellence award for Retail Specialist, Inc (RSI).
“We are honored to have been recognized again this year by the WebAwards,” said Lim.
The website was created by a team composed of Camille Revilla, project lead; Jeff Enriquez, web development director; Karen Azupardo, editorial director; John Gonzalez, creative director; Marvin Desuasido and Darell Sapin, web developers; Patrick de Jesus, web designer; and Niña Oli-Roy, content writer.
“This award reminds us why we love what we do and inspires us to always put our best foot forward,” said Jeff Enriquez, TeamAsia web development director. “Despite having different ideas, our team always finds ways to overcome challenges simply by working together and setting our differences aside.”
