THE PHILIPPINES, JANUARY 13., 2012: TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno has brought to life Blitz and Lily, a toy robot and a doll, in a love story like no other. The two-minute web film, with background music composed by virtual band Mistula, was crafted for Manikako (from “manika ko”, literally “my doll”), with support from Energizer batteries.
“Manikako is one of the non-profit organizations TBWA\SMP has been supporting,” said creative director Joey Tiempo, who is also one of the writers of “ t of Life” web film. For the agency, it is only fitting to support Manikako, a group that upholds creativity. “Manikako is unique because instead of asking people to donate, it encourages them to create,” Tiempo added.
Connecting the organization to a bigger brand like Energizer helps with traction and awareness, said Tiempo. Manikako regularly holds doll-making workshops to teach children how to make their own dolls from old clothes and other recycled materials, meant to be given as ts to others. “The value of selfless giving has been dramatized with the use of toys,” shared Tiempo.
Directed by A/F Benaza, “ t of Life” has received mainly positive responses in social networking and video sharing sites since its release. “The film’s message of love and sacrifice is universal,” said Tiempo, commenting on this public reaction.
