MANILA – October 11, 2013 – To enlighten audiences with facts about HIV and AIDS, TV5 will air a primer showcasing real-life stories of people living with HIV and people living with AIDS, the network said in a press release.
The primer ‘Positive: Ang Dapat Mong Malaman‘ includes facts and figures about HIV and AIDS, including the first known case of AIDS in the country. It also presents the fast rising numbers of HIV infections today, as well as interviews with people living with HIV and their families.
The primer is also meant to herald the network’s Thursday primetime show Positive, the first ever HIV-themed drama series on Philippine television.
Apart from showcasing real-life stories, TV5 said the primer will show the rationale behind the conception of Positive, and how the whole cast and production staff prepared in order to not only entertain, but give its audience awareness about HIV and AIDS.
The primer will also feature behind-the-scenes footage from their immersion with people living with HIV, and interviews with cast members and production staff.
Directed by Eric Quizon, Positive stars Martin Escudero, who plays a man who was diagnosed with HIV.
Positive: Ang Dapat Mong Malaman airs this Saturday, October 12 at 4 p.m. and this Sunday, October 13 at 10 p.m. on TV5.
