MANILA – October 16, 2013 – After four years of recording, plus a year before its release, the aptly-named album "Long Overdue" from artist Kate Torralba is out.

Known as a top fashion designer, Torralba took a break from dreaming up dresses to focus on her music, and the result is lovely.

Inspired by Torralba’s own experiences, Long Overdue includes upbeat songs such as "Northfleet" and "Pictures" as well as ballads like "Anywhere With You" and "Drunk on Your Love."

Torralba shared on RadioRepublic that "Drunk on Your Love" wrote itself after a night out with friends. The only sober person in the room, Torralba observed everyone else, flirting under the influence of alcohol.

Torralba’s music is both sweet and sad, but always a pleasure to listen to. In his review on Vandals on the Wall, Ren Aguila calls Long Overdue "one of the most moving records I have heard this year."

Torralba also told Radio Republic that it was Malek Lopez who convinced her to come up with the album. "It was always like, Oh yeah, I’ll do that someday. And he really believed in my music, so we worked together," said Torralba.

While Lopez was the main producer, Torralba also worked with other producers, including Todd Hunter who plays keyboards for Dionne Warwick, Brian Cua, Ciudad’s Mikey Amistoso, and Itchyworms’ Jazz Nicolas. The album art, a line drawing of the pianist-singer-songwriter, is by Apol Sta. Maria.

"It’s a labor of love. The sum total of a lot of effort and creativity of people who are passionate about music," Torralba said.

Distributed by MCA Music Inc., the album is available on iTunes Asia / UK / Ireland / Middle East and SMART Music, as well as in select Odyssey, Astroplus, Fully Booked and other music stores in the Philippines.
