MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The National Commission Culture and the Arts (NCCA) has commissioned the first Visayas Art Fair, an art fair aims to “connect the islands through art.”
The Visayas Art Fair 2021 is a historic undertaking to unite three regions (Regions 6, 7 & 8) in the Visayas to present to the world the identity of the Visayan arts and culture. This fair, the first of its kind will take place on November 25 to 28 at the Montebello Hotel, Cebu.
The four-day event will have art talks, workshops, book launches, fashion shows, demos, exhibitions, and an artwork showcase from over 26 galleries.
Numerous galleries, art collectives, and artists from all over the Visayan region and NCR will display their works in the exhibit. Apart from this, there will be curated events, art installations, pop-up stores that will showcase art and design in many different forms.
The organizers’ aim is to have a diverse set of participants and artisanal makers to celebrate the creativity and craftsmanship of the Visayas Region. This will be open to special guests, and to the general public adhering to strict guidelines for health protocols and social distancing.
Cebu Design Week, Inc. as the leading organization that supports the creative community in the Visayas, has partnered with The National Commission Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV), Sacred Heart School for Boys Batch 1985 Foundation, and the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation (CFIF) to deliver this project.
