MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Kapamilya film and TV star Sue Ramirez is set to make her first theater appearance as Audrey in The Sandbox Collective’s Little Shop of Horrors.
Sue recently starred in the TV series Iron Heart (2022-2023) and in the films Cuddle Weather (2019) and Rewind (2023).
Taking on the role of underdog romantic Seymour is theater veteran Reb Atadero.
Reb is currently playing Mark Cohen in Rent, and previously played roles in Lungs (2023), Tick, Tick …Boom (2023), and Breakups and Breakdowns (2023).
Little Shop of Horrors will feature a dual cast, with Kapamilya artists Karylle Tatlonghari and Nyoy Volante playing Audrey and Seymour, respectively.
Karylle is one of the hosts of the noontime show It’s Showtime and recently reprised her role as Sita in Rama, Hari (2023). She made her return to the stage with her critically acclaimed performance in Carousel (2022).
Nyoy also appears on It’s Showtime as a judge in its segment, Tawag ng Tanghalan, and recently played Mitch Mahoney in The Sandbox Collective’s The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (2024).
Look out! Little Shop of Horrors: A Bloodthirsty Musical Comedy is set to open its doors in July 2024 at the Maybank Performing Arts Theater. Show dates and tickets are to be announced soon.
