MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Picking up where the 2023 lineup for its first season left off, the CCP National Theatre Live welcomes the new year with American playwright Arthur Miller’s dark and chilling play The Crucible, screening on January 30, 6:00 pm, at the Ayala Malls Cinemas Greenbelt 3, Cinema 1.

Set in the Puritan New England town of Salem, Massachusetts, The Crucible tells a captivating parable of power with historical accounts leading up to the infamous 1692 witch trials. This is the same story on which the Tanghalang Pilipino’s award-winning play Ang Pag-uusig was based.

Directed by renowned West End director Lyndsey Turner and designed by Tony Award-winner Es Devlin, this story is about a group of young women in Salem who are accused of practicing witchcraft. As a climate of fear, vendetta, and accusation spreads through the community, no one is safe from trial.
