Awards: BBDO Guerrero and Ogilvy Philippines showcases Filipino creativity as both agencies bag bronze in the 2020 Clio Awards

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Winners have been announced in the 2020 Clio Awards, and the winners from the Philippines are BBDO Guerrero and Ogilvy Philippines.

The Clio Awards is the esteemed international awards competition for the creative business. Founded in 1959 to celebrate high achievement in advertising, the Clios annually and throughout the year recognize the work, the agencies and the talent—across advertising, sports, fashion, music, entertainment, and health that push boundaries and establish new precedent.

BBDO Guerrero bags a bronze award for “Font Books”, a campaign for the Reading Association of the Philippines. The piece was submitted to the medium: Design Craft within the entry type: Public Service and the category: Typography.

The campaign tackles the hypothesis on whether good design can inspire Filipinos to read classic literature—hence introducing a collection of original typefaces that suit these pieces. An excerpt from each literary classic is shown as a preview for each font face.

On the other hand, Ogilvy Philippines also wins bronze in the Illustration category for its print for Tokyo Tokyo titled “Bike”, which is under the restaurant chain’s campaign “Take Me to Tokyo”.
