Awards: LIA Not-So-Young Creative Competition draws to a close, awards ‘Pride Policy’ in time for Pride month

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Friday last week, June 10, the adobo LIA Not-So-Young Creative Competition held its awards night at The Astbury in Poblacion, Makati. The winner which best responded to the brief “Business Doing Good & Doing Well” was “Pride Policy” for AIA Philippines by Ali Silao, Creative Director/Head of Art at Seven A.D. Manila.

“Pride Policy” reimagines insurance as a product to be inclusive of LGBTQ+ families. The idea was also complimented by the jury comprised of Kat Gomez-Limchoc, ECD of Blackpencil Manila of the Leo Burnett Group as Jury President; Brandie Tan, ECD, Wunderman Thompson; Roman Olivarez, ECD, MullenLowe Treyna; Greg Martin III, ECD, Ace Saatchi & Saatchi; Biboy Royong, ECD, Dentsu Jayme Syfu; Raymund Sison, Creative Chief & Partner, Propel Manila; Joey David-Tiempo, Founder & Chief Creative Officer, Octopus & Whale; Dorothy Dee-Ching, Vice President, Beauty and Personal Care, Unilever, and; Monday Gonzalez, Director for Content Management & Creative Services, Globe Corporate Communications, Globe Telecom.

“I believe that today, more than ever, creativity plays the most important role in helping the road move forward,” said jury member Sison. Read more jury insights on the entries to the competition.

“I feel super honored to receive this and thank you for the competition,” Silao said during his acceptance speech.

“The idea came from a place of equality, inclusivity, and I just really wanted to thank adobo magazine for actually coming up with this competition for the older creatives… It was really fun, it was a bit scary kasi it’s not-so-young creatives so the ideas must be amazing,” he added.

As the winner, Silao will be joining the LIA #TheBusinessofCreativity Scholarship Program with advertising legend Sir John Hegarty worth PHP 100,000.

During the awards ceremony, LIA President Barbara Levy, and LIA Events/Creative LIAisons Director Laurissa Levy also extended their congratulations to the winner Ali Silao and the adobo magazine team.
