Adidas empowers 100 women in sports with carefully curated retreat in Singapore

SINGAPORE — On February 05, design company adidas APAC concluded the #BeSupportedBeYou retreat, which brought its community of women in Sport on a journey to discover freedom and a new way to move. Over a carefully curated three-day program, the event offered a 360-degree mental, physical, and spiritual experience through a slew of activities.

Held at The Outpost Hotel Sentosa, the retreat was attended by more than 50 members of the media, creators, and adiClub members from Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. This included creators such as BeBe, Andrea Dian, the Heungdoongee Twins, Hana G, Fariha Razak, and Iman Fandi.

The adidas #BeSupportedBeYou retreat kicked off with a Mindset workshop on Day 01, led by Dr. Jay Lee Nair, a Sports Performance and Mindset Coach, and featured a sunrise Mat Pilates session on Day 02 at Marina Bay Sands Skypark led by Eugena Bey, founder of local pilates studio BE. Studios. Eugena was also announced as the global face of the Studio category in the brand’s SS23 Bras and Leggings campaign. On Days 02 and 03, participants joined various experiences such as a Nutrition Workshop by Charlotte Mei, a HIIT Workout by Thai celebrity trainer BeBe, an athleisure styling workshop by fashion stylist Isabella Chan, a Circuit Workout by adidas Runners SG captain Sofie Chandra, a Body Strength Workout by Australian trainer and entrepreneur Britt Cutts, as well as a Vision Boarding workshop.

Over 40 members of adiClub from all over Asia Pacific were hand-picked to join this experience in Singapore and discover the new collection. Maneesiam Eua Fua, Brand Communication Director, adidas Asia Pacific, shared, “From the brand’s research, we found 92% of women find it difficult to focus on their workout when their apparel is uncomfortable and ill-fitting and non-breathable apparel can create a multitude of issues for women when training. With this in mind, we launched our Spring Summer 23 Bras and Leggings collection globally and organized this retreat to give our community of women in Sport the opportunity to experience our newest innovations. adidas’ newest bra and leggings cater to various workout needs, be it studio, gym, HIIT, or tunning. The new styles are specifically designed to combat performance barriers faced, allowing women to be supported on their journey in Sport. “

The adidas #BeSupportedBeYou Retreat was conceived to support every body type, and women in Sport on their journey of self-discovery, progress, and betterment through a 360-degree programming. The activities of the retreat were crafted for participants to experience the Bras & Leggings collection’s new innovative technologies, such as airflow management and a four-way stretch material for HIIT training, full adjustability for gym workouts, and increased support structures for studio yoga sessions. This retreat was not merely a physical one, where participants could experience sport to its full potential, but also a mental and spiritual escape to take a step back and discover the best version of themselves.

Daily event overview

  • Day 01 – Reset

Upon arrival and check-in, members of the media, creators, and adiClub members attended a “Reset your Mind” session with Dr. Jay-Lee Nair, who guided them to clear their minds, abandon all inhibitions and fully immerse themselves in the environment for the best experience.

  • Day 02 – Recharge

Set against the iconic backdrop of Singapore from Skypark at Marina Bay Sands, the day started off with a sunrise Mat Pilates session with Eugena Bey. Next, participants attended a Nutrition Talk with Charlotte Mei de Drouas who shared about the unique nutrition needs of women in sports and interesting facts one may not have known about nutrition, such as how one’s period affects their nutrition needs.

A fun spin to usual bra-fitting tutorials, fashion stylist Isabella Chan held an activewear styling session with creators in the retreat modeling the latest SS23 Bras & Leggings collection in different outfit styles. Trainers and creators also shared their reviews of the collection alongside an adidas representative who explained the product’s innovation, concept, and development process.

Participants also joined a HIIT workout with Thai celebrity trainer BeBe and a Circuit Workout led by Sofie Chandra, pushing them to their limits.

  • Day 03 – Rejuvenate

To conclude the retreat, participants joined a body strength workout session with Australian entrepreneur and fitness trainer Britt Cutts and a Vision Board exercise led once again by Dr. Jay-Lee, where creators and participants penned down thoughts and goals that they want to be turned into reality, setting a good starting point for the rest of the year and a perfect way to end off the three-day retreat.
