Employees of Telus International Philippines raise PHP 2 million in support of DepEd and World Vision

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Ensuring continuous learning of children in public schools can be achieved through the support of the community. This was demonstrated when digitally-enabled customer experience and IT company TELUS International Philippines recently turned over a PHP 2.35 million donation to World Vision and the Department of Education‘s “Abutin Na10″ fundraising campaign.

Through TELUS International Philippines’ “Share to Care” shirt drive, more than 7,300 employees raised the donation in support of Abutin N10’s education initiatives in Lanao Del Norte and other area programs (AP) of World Vision in the country.

“Abutin Na10, Para sa Sampung Milyong Mag-aaral: Sampung Piso, Sampung Araw, Sampung Milyong Filipino” is a nationwide fundraising campaign led by World Vision in partnership with DepEd. The campaign aims to contribute to the funding of DepEd’s Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) to support public school students through the provision of educational materials like modules, gadgets, and instructional packets.

TELUS International Philippines’ “We Give Where We Live” philosophy is not just manifested in its donation drives. The company also organizes volunteering activities for its employees all throughout the year through the TELUS Days of Giving program. It also has a fund granting foundation called TELUS International Philippines Community Board, which supports worthy causes to help communities with unique needs across the country. Since 2021, Abutin Na10 has mobilized its volunteer partners to raise funds for the children’s learning continuity plan.

That same year, PHP 1 million was raised for the AP in Cebu. In 2022, PHP 1.3 million was raised for AP Bohol plus another PHP 100,000 for Brigada Pagbasa (Virtual) for AP Manila. This year, PHP 167,000 has been raised so far for the ongoing Brigada Pagbasa (F2F) in AP Malabon. Adding the recent PHP 2.35 million for AP Lanao del Norte, this brings to a total of more than PHP 4.9 million in donations by TELUS International Philippines.
