MANILA, PHILIPPINES — After a successful launch down south in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Engkanto Taps officially makes its BGC debut, bringing a world-class drinking experience to Manila’s thriving urban heart. Tucked in Forbes Town near Burgos Circle, this newly opened flagship taproom is more than just a watering hole it’s a celebration of Filipino craftsmanship, global recognition, and everything we love about good beer and better company.
Fresh from clinching top honors at the World Beer Awards 2024, Engkanto’s High Hive Honey Ale, crowned the World’s Best Beer in its category takes center stage alongside the brewery’s award-winning core lineup. With eight taps flowing with flavor, expect a rotating roster that’s equal parts daring and delightful.
Fan favorites like the vibrant Paint Me Purple Ube Lager and the tropically juicy Mango Nation Hazy IPA have been turning heads overseas in the US and Australia. Seasonal brews featuring indigenous ingredients, like local flowers and fruits, hint at what’s to come. Whether you’re a craft beer aficionado or a curious first-timer, Engkanto Taps invites you to explore the spectrum of styles through a curated beer flight perfect for discovering your new favorite pour. The experience is equal parts education and indulgence, wrapped in a warm, laidback atmosphere.
“Our excitement is sky-high because Taps is finally here in BGC and in Manila,” described Ricard Basora, Managing Director of Engkanto. “We had so much fun launching Engkanto Taps, Sta. Rosa in the south and the people are so warm and welcoming to us. This time around, BGC is the newest place to be for beer lovers in Manila!
“The Engkanto team is here to grow the craft community in the country and to us that means sharing an authentic and fantastic experience at Taps,” says Ian Paradies, Founder of Engkanto. “This entails demonstrating our skills in curating drinks and different dishes beyond showing our love for great beers.”
Filipinos can’t get enough of yummy food next to their beers and that’s something Michael ‘MJ’ Jordan, Brewmaster of Engkanto, hugely appreciates about the drinking culture in the Philippines.
“From the soft launch and grand opening of Engkanto Taps, Sta. Rosa, I’ve seen so many people enjoy the beers as much as the food,” MJ said. “I live around the area, so I’ve invited some friends and met new ones. There’s no place like it because of the laidback atmosphere, fun vibes, and of course, great food and beer. It’s going to be the same in BGC, and maybe even more energy from the nighttime crowd finding a place to chill and unwind.”
Engkanto Taps BGC is located at Forbes Town, near Burgos Circle, and is open daily from 5PM to 2AM.
