MANILA, PHILIPPINES — To mark five decades of championing sneaker culture, sportswear company Foot Locker kicked off a month-long global celebration. The celebration began with their Since Day One campaign videos featuring various cultural icons, a limited edition collection with top sneaker brands, and a massive event celebrating the local sneaker community through Foot Locker Day.
Since Day One stories
Known for its curated selection of top brands and deep community connections, Foot Locker has long been a global leader and an advocate of self-expression through sneaker culture. It is no surprise, then, that the focus of its Since Day One campaign was the stories of Foot Locker icons who also have made their own mark in their respective niches.
In the Philippines, Foot Locker Philippines amplified the stories of illustrator, toy designer, and graffiti artist Quiccs; rapper and songwriter Curtismith; fashion content creator Nicko Sia; model, content creator, and co-founder of The Third World Nika Higashionna; and Foot Locker’s very own, one of its “Stripers” who champion excellent customer experience, Edward Batac, through its Since Day One video series.
More Foot Locker icons from the fields of music, art, fashion, and basketball, such as Jade Suayan, Kat Tan, Jilson Tiu, Dionela, Jech Tiu, Jeff Ong, Jethro Olba, Martin David, Mikee Reyes, Monty Macalino, Nicko Sia, Tyler Tio, and Waiian, support the video series.
Foot Locker exclusive collection
Foot Locker also collaborated with some of the biggest brands for an exclusive collection featuring sneakers and apparel to celebrate its 50th anniversary. These brands include Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Converse, and Puma — all exclusively available locally in Foot Locker stores.
The collection heavily features Foot Locker’s signature black and white colorways accented by gold details to signify the five decades of the brand.
Customers and the sneaker community can access the collection at the Foot Locker website.
Foot Locker Day
Lastly, to cap off its anniversary celebration, Foot Locker hosted Foot Locker Day on September 14 at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay. The whole-day celebration featured special guests such as a meet-and-greet with visual artist Quiccs, as well as Matt Welty and Brendan Dune of Complex Sneakers.
In addition to that, there were live performances from Curtismith, Clara Benin, Deny, Dionela, and Waiian. To make the event even more exciting, there will be activities and pop-ups from partner brands such as Nike, adidas, New Balance, PUMA, Crep Protect, HOKA, and more that are open to the public.
