MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Globe has set a new standard in championing a socially-conscious celebration of G Day month as it integrated the Hapag Movement in on-ground events, encouraging its customers to support the cause against hunger.
The Hapag Movement is a Globe-led initiative against involuntary hunger that leverages technology and partnerships to support 100,000 vulnerable Filipino families through supplemental feeding and livelihood training, with the help of mobilization partners Ayala Foundation, Caritas Philippines, Scholars of Sustenance Philippines, Tzu Chi Foundation, and World Vision.
“By embedding the Hapag Movement’s mission into our activities, we aim to spotlight the pressing challenges of food insecurity and unemployment, rallying collective action among Filipinos. It’s essential for us to use our platform not just to connect people but to also bridge societal gaps, ensuring that as we celebrate, we also elevate the lives of those in need,” said Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at the Globe Group.
Globe Rewards redemption activities highlighted the Hapag Movement at G Music Fest, an all-OPM concert and art festival held on September 16 at Circuit Makati, which drew an attendance of around 12,000.
Contributions to the Hapag Movement were made through the following activities at the music festival:
- Get your own Gudi Drip Keychain – PHP10
- Drip Slash Activity – PHP30
- Entry at the G Music Fest BallPit – PHP1
- Sketch to Life Activity – PHP5
- Live Mural -PHP1
Additionally, all proceeds from the 1 Rewards Point Flash Sale on Food and Beverages were directed to the Hapag Movement.
On September 17, the G Creator Con, an event that championed Filipino creativity, also allowed attendees to support the Hapag Movement using their Rewards points.
The G Creator Studio introduced a “Donate to Reserve” initiative where PHP5 went directly to the program. Other activities such as the Wisdom of Da Vinci immersive exhibit, the GCreator Con Exhibit, Drip Splash, and Gudi Drip (Platinum) each contributed PHP5 to the cause per attendee. Onsite musicians also pledged to match the total earnings of all performers, further amplifying their impact. The event also showcased KUMU-Hapag music content creators as part of the performer’s roster.
Meanwhile, G Battle Zone, which started on September 23 and continued until October 01 at SMX Pasay, also carried Globe’s signature commitment. Activities such as the RevMajor 2023 Raffle allowed participants to donate 1 Rewards Point for 1 entry while an on-ground match saw the winner playing for charity, with PHP50,000 being donated to the Hapag Movement.
Materials related to the Hapag Movement were also prominently displayed at the G Music Fest and G Creator Con, and the initiative was consistently highlighted in on-ground announcements and spiels at the G Battle Zone.
