HONG KONG – To celebrate two decades of revolutionizing navigation, Google Maps has partnered with Nicholas “Chef Nic” Tse, to unveil a handpicked list of his favorite Hong Kong food spots. Dubbed Chef Nic’s Choice, this exclusive compilation offers food lovers a deeper dive into the city’s dynamic culinary landscape that is all curated through the discerning palate of a chef, actor, and music icon.
Nicholas Tse shared: “Google Maps has always been my trusted companion for travel. It not only helps me navigate and customize my routes, but it also helps me discover local food and attractions. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Google Maps on its 20th anniversary and share my favourite Hong Kong restaurants with friends worldwide through the new Shared List Feature in Hong Kong. I hope to inspire everyone to explore this ‘food paradise’. Feel free to save my Maps list and check out the notes I jot down for each spot – and maybe we’ll see each other there!”
From comfort food to Michelin-starred indulgences, Tse’s picks highlight the vibrant flavors that define Hong Kong’s food scene:
- Indulgent Comfort Classics – Sometimes, only nostalgic bites will do. Tse swears by Kam Fung Restaurant’s iconic chicken pie and pineapple bun. And for a sip of pure satisfaction? My Cup of Tea’s “bold & rich” milk tea never disappoints.
- A Sichuan-Cantonese Flavor Playground – Tse finds inspiration in the fiery yet balanced flavors of Golden Valley, where Sichuan spices elevate without overpowering. He also raves about The Demon Celebrity’s signature Fu Gor’s Fried Rice, a must-try for adventurous palates.
- Michelin-Approved Must-Eats – Tse is no stranger to culinary excellence. He praises the crispy roast goose at Yat Lok Restaurant (Central), calling it “best enjoyed fresh in house,” and hails the claypot rice at Kwan Kee as an “extraordinary flavor experience.”
Google Maps enables people to curate their own lists of favourite locations and travel recommendations, and share them with other Maps users.
Search “Hong Kong” on Google Maps to see lists from our trusted partners like Nicholas Tse, the Hong Kong Tourism Board, MTR Corporation (also new!) and KKday. These lists can be easily saved to your map or shared with friends. They are also integrated into the placesheets of listed Points of Interest (POIs), providing relevant recommendations when and where users need them. This interactive function presents all the essential information – expert insights, photos, reviews, operating hours, and more – directly on the map, eliminating the need to switch between multiple tabs and simplifying travel research.
