AUSTIN, USA – As SXSW 2025 takes place in Austin, Texas from March 10 to 15, the Taiwan Beats Showcase will showcase six of Taiwan’s most exciting artists on March 12 at SEVEN GRAND. Known for its high-energy performances and innovative programming, this year’s Taiwan Beats Showcase will feature a mix of music genres, spotlighting must-see acts: hip-hop rising star HSIEN CHING, enigmatic jazz-soul artist ?te (Whyte), Gen Z indie-pop sensation Andr, ethereal singer-songwriter Enno Cheng, alternative rock powerhouse TRASH, and the boundary-pushing cyber-Taike band Amazing Show.
The Taiwan Beats Showcase is a music export project that aims to highlight Taiwanese artists on the international stage. Presented by Young Team Productions and supported by the Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development (BAMID), the Taiwan Beats Showcase has been one of the highlights of SXSW for many years with its high quality live performances and creative themes, uniting musicians, industry representatives, and audiences.
This year’s Taiwan Beats Showcase is a must-see show that brings a diverse soundscape. Leading the charge is boundary-breaking rapper HSIEN CHING, whose unconventional style earned her a cover spot on Perfect magazine’s debut issue, backed by Gucci. With her highly anticipated debut album dropping in March, she’s a name to watch. Bedroom pop prodigy Andr, who made waves at SXSW Sydney 2024 with her dreamy debut album shhh, it’s under my bed, continues her meteoric rise. The enigmatic ?te (Whyte), always masked in oversized hats and shades, blends chillhop, jazz, and neo-soul, channeling Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse’s smoky allure. Multifaceted creator Enno Cheng—singer songwriter, actress, and author— is a sincere and outspoken female talent of the new generation who has recently teamed up with Korean indie artist Lang Lee on a deeply moving bilingual track that transcends borders. Meanwhile, the rock powerhouse TRASH commands a devoted following across Asia and the U.S.,veterans of SXSW and global festivals, return to Austin to showcase their arena-sized energy. Closing the lineup, the eccentric Amazing Show stands as Taiwan’s only band to craft its own experimental instruments, weaving rock, punk, and electronic influences into their surreal “Tai-Ke” aesthetic.
However, the Taiwan Beats Showcase experience doesn’t stop there. Earlier in the day, the Taiwan Beats Day Party, in collaboration with the TAICCA to feature shows by Asian artists as well as multinational professionals panel to gain insights into Taiwan and Asia’s vibrant music scene, explore its future and its commercial possibilities with the US market. Catch the Taiwan Beats Showcase on March 12 at Seven Grand, running from 1 PM – 2 AM. Admission to the Day Party is free with RSVP, and SXSW badge or wristband holders get priority entry.
