MANILA, PHILIPPINES — In pursuit of its mission of building people for a future that is uncharted and uncertain, Hyper Island expands its global operations in Asia with its launch in the Philippines this 2023. “Own the Unknown,” its launch event, announced the opening of several programs to individuals and organizations in the country including its Digital Management Accelerator Program, Masters of Arts in Digital Management, and Business Solutions offerings.
Hyper Island Institute of Higher Education, a creative business school with consultancy services, designs transformative learning experiences that challenge individuals and organizations to grow and stay competitive in an increasingly digitized world. Disrupting the fields of education and human learning since its founding in Karlskrona, Sweden in 1996, it is astride the intersection of business, technology, and innovation and has since imparted its unique learning footprint across Sweden, the United Kingdom, Brazil, North America, and Singapore. Now, Hyper Island introduces a new breed of education, from professional short courses to a Master’s program, to learners in the Philippines, and to India and Indonesia later on this year.
“The only thing that is certain about the future is that it is uncertain. More than IQ or EQ, building your Adaptability Quotient allows you to see the unknown future as not to be feared, but embraced. You are able to prepare yourself for the unknown today,” said Peachy Pacquing, Managing Director of Hyper Island Singapore at the “Own the Unknown” Launch Event.
A core element of the launch event was the introduction of the Hyper Island learner profiles where attendees learned about the six key characteristics that define a Hyper Island learner. You could be a: Systems Connector, Rapid Adaptor, Confident Teamer, Playful Explorer, Tech Wrangler, and Reflective Storyteller.
Ted Kilian, Learning & Experience Design Director, explained how Hyper Island equips their learners with Meta skills for change and how these are cultivated through their Master’s Program and various shorter courses, equipping students to excel in a never normal world.
The Hyper Island Way: Learning By Doing, Experiential Learning, and Effective Teamwork
While the Institute was created to introduce an alternative way of learning more than 25 years ago, Hyper Island continues to challenge traditional business schools today, especially in the wake of a global pandemic and the fundamentally changed landscapes of work, teams and the marketplace.
One of the core values at Hyper Island is Learning by Doing. Learning means being constantly engaged, passionate, trusting and curious about changing the world – and by doing.
“We are founded on the principle of learning by doing as a way to embrace technological developments. We bring together the most foundational and bleeding edge insights from the world of behavioral science, adult development and creativity to design experiences, products and tools that will equip you to tackle the challenges of the future,” said Peachy.
Hyper Island’s programs take learners through transformative experiences in order to develop new perspectives that enable individuals to expand on their existing skills. Around the world, the school has been enabling individuals and organizations to boost their change readiness and preparedness for whatever lies ahead by designing intelligent journeys, products and services to support whole lifetimes of learning. Hyper Island actively shares tools, methodologies and stories and empower their community and network of lifelong learners, from alumni, staff, and experts.
Through a facilitative approach to their methodology, Hyper island helps teams develop trust where everyone is seen and heard. These types of teams are fundamental for driving innovation – and creating delightful customer experiences. The community is united in its quest to bring positive change that is beneficial, not just to them as individuals and their businesses but also to others and the world as a whole.
Hyper Island offers on-the-ground training for individuals and organizations in the Philippines. The online Digital Management Accelerator Program, touted as the best collection of Hyper Island, is a condensed version of the globally recognized Master’s Program in Digital Management and will commence its next run in June of 2023. Their Masters of Arts in Digital Management, a part-time, 18 months executive level program will begin in July of this year. Online, the same will be open to learners across the Asia Pacific Region in August. Applications open on May 15.
