MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The term “superwoman” often conjures images of fearless women balancing multiple roles whether they’re leading businesses, chasing creative pursuits, or nurturing families. At EY Global Delivery Services (GDS), a powerhouse within the Big Four, over 70,000 professionals make up a dynamic global network. Among them are remarkable women who redefine success by seamlessly blending their personal and professional passions.

Priyanka Chaudhry, EY GDS Tax leader, is among the many women who exemplify the superwoman spirit, dedicating herself to organizations that support women and entrepreneurs. Having served in not-for-profit boards and promoting economic inclusion through her work with the EY organization’s Entrepreneur Access Network and other organizations, she is deeply committed to education for girls.

“I’m very fortunate to work for an organization that aligns with my personal beliefs and values. I work with teams and EY clients across the globe to accomplish a shared vision. This global mindset is well integrated with my personal desire to learn from diverse perspectives and cultures,” she said.

Priyanka believes that part of her success comes from a deep sense of fulfillment and commitment. “It’s a mix of personal passions, career growth and community involvement. Taking the time to reflect has helped me be more intentional with how I spend each day.”

While some women find their calling in community service, others discover their purpose through motherhood. For Cyndie Bondoc, Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) Manager at EY GDS Philippines, raising a child has been the most fulfilling experience of her life.

“I love witnessing every milestone in my child’s growth,” she said. “In fact, EY’s Thrive Time initiative has not only allowed me to participate in essential parenting activities but also helped strengthen and enhance my skills that I can also utilize in my profession.”

As a working mom, Cyndie encourages others to prioritize self-care. “Nurture and recharge. Take care of your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing to bring out the best version of yourself to help you navigate responsibilities effectively between both your family and professional life.”

Beyond the realm of self-care and family life, the pursuit of creative passions offers another path towards mindfulness. For Ronne Rochelle “Mapet” Retumban, an Executive Director in EY GDS Philippines Tax, wellness comes through working with her hands. From painting, sketching, to cross-stitching, she finds joy in creating and crafting something beautiful.

“I find it therapeutic, especially while listening to really good podcasts. I find myself learning and, at the same time, enjoying my craft,” she said.

While she juggles two roles at work, Mapet always finds time to commit to her passion. “Just like my cross-stitch, it is essential to appreciate and understand the significance of the journey and the process involved. It is important to persevere and maintain integrity, taking accountabilities for all responsibilities entrusted to you, regardless of how small they may be,” she said.

Just as craft work provides a meditative escape, some find their moments of reflection in distant horizons. Traveling isn’t just about seeing new places – it is about finding peace and perspective. And this is the case for Corine Punzalan, Assistant Audit Manager at EY GDS Philippines Assurance. Corine said that watching breathtaking sunsets have taught her the importance of mindfulness and taking a step back to appreciate the beauty around her.

“These moments of tranquility at the beach serve as a reminder to bring that sense of calm and appreciation into my work life, helping me maintain stability and perspective most especially during the busy times of audit season and tight deadlines,” she said.

Even at work, this sense of calm is brought to life by the “Assurance Wellness Buddies” initiative that promotes wellbeing and a supportive environment. “Staying motivated and inspired to pursue both my career and my passions involves setting clear goals and prioritizing my time effectively,” she said.

At EY GDS, these women aren’t just working; they’re building lives of purpose, passion and profound impact. To young women out there, continue chasing your dreams with unwavering determination, supporting one another and breaking barriers. Together, we can build a future where every woman thrives, leading the way in transforming workplaces and communities.
