MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Global leader in outsourced customer experience management Teleperformance (TP) has opened its second Cloud Campus microsite in General Santos City, marking a milestone of its 24th business site in the Philippines. Teleperformance is the first global Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company to open in the area.

The Cloud Campus microsite is a physical site dedicated to supporting TP’s revolutionary work-from-home solution, the TP Cloud Campus, which connects home-based communication experts to the Teleperformance team via Cloud Campus hubs that include high-tech features to keep staff involved while retaining efficient operations.

This site will open more jobs for residents in South Cotabato, allowing them to work closer to home. TP also hopes to contribute to the capability building and economic growth of the province. Like other sites, the TP Cloud Campus General Santos Microsite will have a fully functional recruitment center to process job applicants. Teleperformance targets to employ more than 1,000 team members in General Santos and other neighboring provinces through this microsite.

Teleperformance’s unique, cloud-centric program also enables enterprises to effortlessly grow their businesses and provide excellent customer experience. Overall, the solution reduces operational interruption for businesses while allowing employees to work from anywhere in the country.

Teleperformance Philippines Chief Executive Officer Francisco Lara noted, “Opening a brand new chapter for TP General Santos is a testament to our successful partnership with the local government, the business and industry organizations, and most of all, our dedicated TP Philippines team! We’re all presenting a commitment that if you know someone that needs a job and they want a great place to work, we will find an opportunity for them to have an excellent job within Teleperformance.”

The new microsite in General Santos City follows the launch of the first microsite in Ilocos Norte earlier in 2022. It is the third Teleperformance business site in Mindanao, following two others in Davao and Cagayan de Oro City, along with multiple Cloud Campus kiosks located in other Teleperformance sites in the Philippines that function as operational command posts for virtual teams.

Furthermore, the new business site is part of Teleperformance’s commitment to offering more career opportunities to Filipinos by supporting the Digital Cities 2025 program by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

“Under our law that created the DICT, Republic Act 10844, countryside development is a mandate. ICT industry development is a mandate,” shared DICT Undersecretary Atty. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue. “The ecosystem [in General Santos City] is very, very, ripe for new beginnings. Here, I have seen so much adaption of digital solutions. It’s just a matter of time – and the right time is now with the coming of Teleperformance,” she added.

The DICT program aims to create over a hundred thousand local jobs in identified cities and provinces by 2025, including General Santos City and the province of South Cotabato. DICT identified the region as an ideal investment spot due to its strategic location and a vast and educated human resource pool comparable to major cities in the Philippines.

General Santos City Mayor Lorelie Geronimo Pacquiao welcomed the partnership with Teleperformance. “This is indeed a very significant moment for all of us. Hundreds of jobs were generated because of Teleperformance and I believe many more jobs will be generated soon. It will also help us in our economy, provide additional jobs for the people of the city, and now, we have a partner that would help us in the growth of the IT-BPO/BPM industry.”

Meanwhile, Congressman Loreto Acharon of the Lone District of General Santos, added, “This is a very good development to the city. Every investment in the city is a welcome development because this is a manifestation of the continuing business trust and confidence in the policy of the city…. We are glad that you are here.”

“It is Teleperformance’s priority to provide sustainable, safe, and stable employment for everyone. Through our ingenious Cloud Campus work-from-home solution, we will continue to boost our presence across the country,” shared Teleperformance Philippines Senior Vice President for Human Capital Resource Management Jeffrey Johnson.

The new Teleperformance Campus Culture promotes physical and mental well-being among employees, aided by bespoke Technology, Analytics, and Process Excellence (T.A.P. TM) strategies that utilize human insights, fun, teamwork, friendly competition, and continuous learning.

These include training simulations, gamification, operational remote management systems, and collaboration tools built with machine learning and analytics functionality to allow more First Call Resolutions and lower Average Handling Time.

The Teleperformance Cloud Campus model was also developed to help businesses mitigate operational disruptions by providing a comprehensive solution to companies seeking remote work as part of its expansion plans in the digital age. It thoughtfully addresses the primary concerns of companies for processes to be handled from a home environment, such as security, performance and control, and remote team engagement.
