STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN– Just in time for Halloween, Burger King released an in-store activation in selected stores in Sweden and Denmark. Created by nordic agency INGO Stockholm, “Cancelled clown” is only the latest of the fast food chain’s tongue-in-cheek marketing against its competitor McDonald’s.

“A few years ago, a particular clown got abruptly cancelled from his long-standing job at a certain hamburger chain,” the video reads and in the Halloween spirit, Burger King is bringing the clown back through its stores.

The campaign shows Burger King customers facing a bathroom mirror and saying “Cancelled clown, cancelled clown, cancelled clown,” a cheeky spin on the urban horror legend of Bloody Mary.
