KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – Smartphone manufacturer vivo Malaysia and global brand experience agency, VMLY&R Malaysia, are redefining what smartphone photography means with an exciting new visual storytelling campaign.

Taking in photos and videos from popular Malaysian celebrities and influencers, including Astro TV host and personality, Yan Jiang Han; National Geographic Photographer, Ian Teh, and Fashion Photographer, Raisa Azzam, the campaign sets the new vivo X50 and x50 Pro smartphones apart from the competition, highlighting new innovative features like the smartphone’s 44MP and the world’s first built-in gimbal camera.

“To stand out from what other competing smartphone manufacturers are claiming with their products, we launched a campaign to showcase the real-deal, showing how the vivo X50 and X50 Pro are redefining photography via its industry-first features,” said Eric Ho, Managing Director, VMLY&R Malaysia.

“The Gimbal camera allows users to overcome camera shakiness and blurring, while the 60X zoom allows fantastic close-ups, so letting Nat Geo Photographer Ian Teh use it to take captivating nature and people shots, even in low light scenerios, was a great way to highlight its capabilities in the field. Similarly, we wanted to show how the camera moves with you in your life, so working with fashion photographer Raisa Azzam, as she used the X50 to move around and shoot moving models, getting the right angles at the right time and producing professional quality photographs, was an excellent way to demonstrate this,” he added.

The campaign was seeded via vivo Malaysia’s social media channels and also via those of the influencers who were engaged for the campaign.

“VMLY&R helped to bring to life the seamless experience of using the vivo X50 and X50 Pro to take outstanding everyday shots, upclose, while moving around and in low light scenarios, said Mike Xu, Chief Executive Officer at vivo Malaysia.

“The visual storytelling campaign really works to bring the product’s innovative features to light via the captivating photography and testimonials of the various credible personalities in their respective fields, which really drives home the message for consumers.”
