COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – The harsh tips are presented as a contrast to style tips from Norwegian influencers in the new Marc Reisbig-directed spot for Kirkens Bymisjon.
To start out with, the new film for Norwegian non-profit Kirkens Bymisjon seems like a stylish, yet classic narrative; Local influencers give their best advice for making the most out of a tight budget when it comes to personal style. However, the point of view suddenly shifts and turns the film into something more pressing and thought-provoking.
“I use bold hair and makeup to shift focus away from my clothes,” one girl says. “Public transportation is expensive, but walking is free. You just have to plan a little better,” another declares.
Point being that the more than 100.000 Norwegian children growing up in poverty are usually doing all they can to hide their situation, which is even harder during the pandemic. IN other words, life hacks can mean very different things, depending on who you ask.
The spot is directed by Marc Reisbig and produced by Bacon with Anorak as agency for Kirkens Bymisjon (Church City Mission). The Norwegian nonprofit strives to help kids from economically challenged families through both awareness and political lobbyism.
