MANILA, PHILIPPINES– Disney’s Christmas advert with charity Make-A-Wish released on November 9 features a quintessential Filipino theme.
Revolving around a Mickey Mouse stuffed toy passed down between generations, the advert tells the heartwarming tale of family and togetherness.
The spot opes with a scene featuring a known element of Filipino Christmas, the parol (lantern). A little girl receives the stuff toy and passes it on to her granddaughter who discards it as she grew older.
Upon the realization of her negligence towards taking care of the present and her relationship with her grandma, the granddaughter mends the damage of Mickey Mouse and ushers the Christmas into their home by lighting up lanterns.
The campaign is set to the soundtrack by UK Singer Griff “Love is a Compass.” Proceeds from the download of the track within this year will proceed to Make-A-Wish foundation.
