What makes the perfect getaway? Three things. Sunsets, shores, and the beach.
This seems to be exactly what the Department of Tourism (DOT) had in mind when they launched the minute-long video, entitled “Coastline Counter” together with BBDO Guerrero, showcasing the beautiful beaches of the country, which is one of the longest shorelines in the world.
The video starts with a woman seemingly admiring the sunset, and as she starts walking, the scene is shifted to different people walking on the beach, which gradually changes into people running, then diving, parasailing, kayaking, surfing, and so much more. The overall cinematic vibe of the video falls perfectly in sequence as if following one continued motion. Synced to an upbeat track that will surely get you dancing, the entire film feels like an adventure through the country’s never-ending coastline.
In a seamless, cinematic piece which was shot across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, the film directed by Luis Tabuena highlights the exciting places to explore in the Philippines.
Philippine Department of Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat shares, “Our award-winning and internationally-acclaimed beaches are a great introduction of our country to foreign tourists. With this, we hope to continue the double-digit increase in tourist arrivals to the country, an upward trend we’ve been enjoying this year.”
BBDO Guerrero Creative Chairman David Guerrero says, “This is the first of a series we are excited to share, featuring different aspects of the country. We look forward to inviting more people to be part of the fun.”
The spot is accompanied by an original musical score by award-winning composer Malek Lopez.
There is no doubt that the Philippines has some of the best beaches in the world, and this campaign doesn’t fail to make you want to explore them all. So I don’t know about you, but this DOT video campaign has me wanting to leave my desk, and #BePartOfTheFun!
