MANILA – Almost everyone has been ranting about the heat this summer. With temperatures hitting the high 30s in Metro Manila, people have been looking for ways to cool down, or at the very least, be productive in the face of the heat.
For today’s youth, however, summer is a time to cut loose with friends whether they’re simply hanging out or engaging in group activities. That’s the theme behind a new dance video from Greenwich and Viva Communications, the Creative and Production outfit of the Viva Group of Companies.
In this epic barkada dance video, Yassi Pressman joins teen dance sensation Julian Trono and the country’s premiere dance group, G-Force. Top music video director Paul Basinillo uses a remix of the 1995 classic by After Image, “Next In Line,” as the music to accompany the energetic dance troupe.
Yassi, Julian, and the rest of G-Force are shown dancing both indoors at a condo unit and outdoors (specifically in the heart of Manila) before eventually meeting up in an empty warehouse. As both the guys and girls engage in a dance-off, both groups merge and make their way to a rooftop where they partake of Greenwich’s Lasagna Supreme even as the video hits its crescendo.
It’s a testament to the lyrics of the rock classic that it still resonates as an anthem of youth over two decades after it was first released. Now given another arrangement and sung by Thyro Alfaro, “Next in Line” is presented to a new generation of youngsters through this short film to battle the summer heat.
The video has already reached 5.6 million views since its release on April 28, 2017 and was made possible by Greenwich’s #EpicLasagnaSupreme.
