BANGKOK, THAILAND – COVID-19 outbreak has a huge impact on not only humans but also on pets. Due to the economic fallout and the rising unemployment rates, the population of stray cats has risen dramatically, according to data from the Livestock Development Department of Thailand.

Regalos, Thailand’s leading cat food producer (Pattaya Food Group), has joined forces with the Cat Republic Club, a charitable organization for stray cats in Bangkok. The charity is founded by the legendary Thai Creative Jureeporn Thaidumrong whom herself keeps eighty cats as pets (yes you read that right -who best to look after the well-being of these feline creatures than a true cat lover).

Created by GREYnJ UNITED, cat lovers can join the campaign via an interactive website, allowing them to virtually contact and feed the stray cats which are under the supervision of the club. In addition, for those that express an interest and meet the criteria, the cats are also available for adoption, which makes the program more impactful and sustainable for the long term.

“With thousands of stray cats left vulnerable amidst the spread of Covid-19, we want to try to help people to adopt sensible cat care efforts and want to ensure maximum safety and well-being not only for themselves but also for their cats. No-one, including pets, should be forgotten during these challenging times ”said Jureeporn Thaidumrong, CCO of GREYnJ UNITED and founder of Cat Republic Club and proud pet owner of 80 cats.
