DOHA, QATAR — The commemoration of Qatar’s unification in 1878, Qatar National Day, is the biggest and one of the most important celebrations of the year. This special day is celebrated with great fanfare and reverently – with a colourful parade and a mesmerising fireworks display lighting up Doha’s skyline. But most importantly this is a ceremony of Qatari national Identity – its history, values, traditions, and culture.
Juice was invited by Qatar National Day Organizing Committee to create a story that would appeal to every, proud Qatari. The video is also a part of a wider mission – to reach the youngest generation, where using animation as a medium to do so is still rare and quite unique.
Now you can check how the Juice team breathed life into historical characters and orchestrated a captivating story – from creating the scenario and concept arts to CGI, animation, and sound mix. The team has developed 18 types of characters wearing period-appropriate outfits (we know what eghal, ghutra and thobe are now), three types of animals, 17 crowds, more than 30 environments. A special set of brushes was created and passed to our tech-savvy masters to achieve the painting look output.
Summing up, this four min long full CG animation got two million views on Twitter in four days and was aired on the national TV stations – Qatar TV, Alrayyan TV, Alkass, and on the Doha360 digital platform.
