MANILA – For most fathers, the beginning of their shift into fatherhood begins with waiting. Waiting outside a hospital delivery room as their wives give birth to their child. As time goes on, however, dads find that a lot of their time is spent waiting, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
For this year’s Father’s Day, Leo Burnett Manila and McDonald’s presents Filipino fathers of all shapes and sizes waiting for their children in different instances. Whether it is waiting for the kids to finish playdates, waiting for their junior prom to end, waiting for them as the kids shop around a mall with their friends, waiting for the kids to finish taking their college entrance exams, or other similar scenarios. Sometimes, all they have to accompany them as they wait is a cup of coffee from McCafe, but that’s fine.
‘Wait lang po’ shows that most fathers willingly wait for their children to finish these activities and are ready to give them a warm hug or a little encouragement once they’re together again. No matter how old their children may get, dad will always be dad. These fathers don’t mind waiting for their kids to give them that warm welcome, just as they did when dad welcomed them into this world.
