MANILA, Philippines – #LoveKitaMa. Being a mother may seem so daunting, a great responsibility with no set rules and guidelines, more so if you are faced to do it alone. They take on the role despite many unknowns, always striving to be the best mother they can be. And while they constantly work towards achieving the standards they have set for themselves, it’s their simple acts of love that matter the most for their children.
McDonald’s latest Mother’s Day video is a poignant glimpse into the depth of a mother’s love. The video shows us a mom and a child, sharing their favorite McDonald’s Fries, all the while surrounded by other families with both parents present. The child starts to identify her and her mom with their fries, yet stops to wonder if something is missing. Her realization at the end gives a touching resolution to the film.
McDonald’s makes us realize that a parent’s love can be so strong that it alone can complete us. No matter the odds. No matter what others think.
“Mothers are unique in their own special way, but they all share the common desire to give their children the best of themselves. This Mother’s Day, we want to celebrate their selfless love, and how it allows us to feel whole,” shares Christina Lao, Marketing Director for McDonald’s Philippines. “With this tribute, we’d like to inspire children to show their appreciation for their nanay, inay, mommy, mama or however we call this most special person in our lives — even in the simplest of ways.”
