THAILAND – BBDO Bangkok has helped Special Olympics Thailand launch a film that celebrates the fighting spirit of the incredible people who take part in this annual event.

Although track events are a common activity for many people worldwide, this film shows the event in a whole new light.; demonstrating the value of sports in a more meaningful way.

Firstly, it aims to use sports as a medium to celebrate people’s diverse gifts, which is the philosophy of Special Olympics. And secondly, it encourages society to be more accepting of people with intellectual disabilities through the power of sports, which is the goal of Special Olympics.

While the Special Olympics offers a wide range of programmes for athletes at all levels, the film tells the story of a Special Olympics Track competition, yet, in this version it is without a typical finish line. Instead, they are welcomed by the warm embrace of volunteer huggers; a touching end to the race.

All the talent who starred in the film are real athletes from the Special Olympics Thailand. There are no stand-ins used, only the fighting spirit and big heart of athletes who are willing to put more than 100 percent into it.
