UNITED KINGDOM – There are two kinds of people: those who go to the doctor the moment they feel sick, and those who don’t. But have you ever thought that there might be something in between being a hypochondriac and a walking viral infection?

This campaign by NHS and M&C Saatchi wants to remind you that there is actually one such other option. And that is to see a pharmacist, get the prescription you need, go home and treat your symptoms.

According to NHS, a lot of people go to the doctor to have minor illnesses checked. It’s understandable nowadays though what with the coronavirus. But most of the time, making an appointment and waiting for the doctor can be time-consuming. We’ve all been there. NHS just wants to cut you some slack because pharmacists are just as capable as general physicians (GP) when it comes to treating minor illnesses.

However, it’s hard to convince someone who has made a habit of seeing a GP for every sore throat and allergy. So, NHS commissioned graphic designer and digital illustrator Doaly to design movie posters featuring a disease, starring its symptoms.

Some of the blockbuster illnesses are “Sore Throat and The Lost Voice”, “Earache Strikes Back”, “Night of the Itchy Eye” which are all part of the franchise called “Take the Drama Out of Minor Illnesses. See a Pharmacist.”

The posters are reminiscent of some of the films we know and love like Indiana Jones and Star Wars. It’s no wonder since the artist has worked with Disney, Lucas Film, Pixar, 20th Century Studios, and more.

NHS is known for its quirky and honest ads. In 2011, they came out with these outdoor ads warning the public against hand-rolling tobacco which may result in impotence, infertility, loss of limbs.
