SINGAPORE – A recent survey by Jetstar has found that an overwhelming 92% of Singapore millennials consider themselves to be very spontaneous, with 84% having no qualms about hopping on a last-minute flight that departs on the very same day for a weekend trip.

Other survey findings include:

  • 77% of the respondents have gone on holiday without planning an itinerary

  • 62% would immediately make a booking if they saw a great deal to a destination they’ve always dreamed of visiting

  • 80% are open changing their holiday plans along the way

With these statistics on board, Jetstar decided to put the millennials to the test, and challenged them to a “food tasting” with a twist.

At Penang Culture, diners were served dishes like Assam Laksa and Char Kway Teow, but were also asked if they would drop all plans and fly to Penang a few hours later to savour these delicacies in Georgetown.

The millennials spontaneous enough to accept the challenge were treated to a weekend trip to Penang, courtesy of Jetstar and Penang Global Tourism.

Jetstar is now further encouraging this spirit of spontaneity with an irresistible sale of just $38 one way, all-in fare to Penang and 22 other destinations in the Jetstar Asia network.

Customers who dine at Penang Culture at Causeway Point on 25 January will also stand a chance to win Jetstar flights to Penang. In the spirit of spontaneity, tickets will only be valid for one week, and winners must travel to Penang within seven days of winning the tickets.
