SINGAPORE — In the continuous fight against terrorism, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and creative agency VML Singapore have created new interactive films that enable users to learn more about their roles in keeping Singapore safe.

Launched on the social media platform TikTok on October 30, the interactive films expand on SGSecure’s “What’s your Role” campaign by mobilizing Singaporeans to make the right choice when faced with potential dangers. The films emphasize the evolving threats of terrorism, caution against the dangers of spreading misinformation that can cause fear and division, and highlight the positive and negative consequences of our actions. The two creative films allow users to “choose their own journey” when faced with a dilemma — reminding Singaporeans of the importance of vigilance and unity in maintaining a safe and harmonious community.

MHA and VML continue to take a distinctive step away from portraying terrorism as an all-consuming doom and gloom. This time, they are inspiring and empowering Singaporeans to stand united and play their roles in the fight against terrorism.

Nimesh Desai, Chief Executive Officer at VML Singapore, said, “We all have a role to play in keeping Singapore safe from terrorism. And there’s no role too small. Which is why we leveraged interactive technology to remind and enable Singaporeans to play theirs and be ready for any emergency.”

Wilbur Sim, Director (SGSecure Programme Office, MHA), added, “A whole-of-society approach is crucial to safeguard our community from the threat of terrorism. The interactive films highlight the simple actions that everyone can take to protect our loved ones and our community from the multi-faceted threats of terrorism in a refreshing yet thought-provoking style.”
