MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Moonleaf Tea Shop, a next-door milk tea hub where one can out their most authentic individuality, has joined in this month’s Pride celebration by amplifying its inclusive vision with activities across social media platforms.
Walking first into the parade is Moonleaf Stories, spotlighting Filipino drag queens. The pilot episode, starring drag stars Felicia and Salmo Nella, is now available on Moonleaf’s Instagram and Facebook pages. The video series features these drag icons and their candid conversations about experiences and inspirations on all things pride, love, and equality. They are set to spill more tea in future episodes airing soon.
To encourage its tea shop patrons to participate, a TikTok Contest using the brand’s exclusive Moonleaf Pride Filter will also take place from June 05 to 30. All joiners need to do is follow Moonleaf’s TikTok page, use the special filter, and upload it on the platform with the hashtags #TaraMoonleaf and #MoonleafPride. One lucky winner will be given one month’s worth of free milk tea. To verify their entries, participants must share their TikTok video link via the brand’s Facebook page or direct messages via Instagram and Facebook.
“Moonleaf’s Pride initiative is our way of giving a big, warm ‘thank you’ to the community, who have been our rock since day one. We also aim to educate the public about discrimination, equality, and the different ways we can show support for each person’s right to become their most fabulous, authentic self,” shared Mike Magallanes, Creative Director of Moonleaf.
Pride celebration won’t be complete without some tea time, thus, Moonleaf selected a mix of colorful milk tea flavors to come up with its special edition Pride Menu, all up for grabs at the most easy-on-the-pocket prices. Offering diversity even on these refreshing sips, the product list displays their Strawberry Black Tea at PHP115, Matcha Salted Cream at PHP135, Wintermelon Milk Tea at PHP105, Banana Milk Tea at PHP105, Strawberry Salted Cream at PHP135, and Ube Milk Tea at PHP130.
Selected Moonleaf Tea Shop branches nationwide will also be dressed up in Pride decor, where customers can also receive the brand’s limited Pride-themed stickers that are redeemable after purchase. For a more festive commemoration, Moonleaf will also launch a music playlist that features the LGBTQIA+ community’s favorite tunes and anthems that speak of love and inclusivity, to be blasted in their stores for the entire month of June and ready for streaming through its own Spotify page.
