PC&V Comms shows the other side of Century Tuna in new ad starring James Reid

MANILA – With the aim to go out of the box, Century Tuna launches new ad starring James Reid using an approach that isn’t quite expected of the tuna brand.

“Century Tuna advertising has always been about health and fitness. The challenge is to always keep it new and fresh by telling the story differently each time. As market leader, we wanted to do something unexpected of us,” says Marketing Manager, Gela Gamboa-Pecson.

The 30-second TV spot, entitled “Meta” (short for metamorphosis), was a response to the challenge posed by Greg Banzon, general manager and vice president for Century Pacific Food Inc., Tuna Division “to create something iconic for the brand.”

“To have an important, meaningful message and tell it in a creative, suprising manner is an opportunity that doesn’t come everyday,” commented PC&V President and Chief Creative Officer Juan Ariel Comia. “We quickly obliged with a storyboard revealing hot young celebrity James Reid in a very visual telling of a story about fitness, redefined and reinvented by Century Tuna.”

As of this posting, the video #CenturyTunaSuperbods: There’s #NoBodyLikeJames uploaded on Century Tuna’s Facebook page has garnered more than 2 million views, over 61,000 likes and 8,000 shares.
